You have basically a bucket that you utilize to collect your deposits in with sawdust. When it gets full you very easily dump it into its own little compost area. It works on a thermophilic activity, which is heat generating. What happens in thermophilic compost, with a combination of time and temperature, all human pathogens die.

Janaia: Obviously, human manure has been used as a farming supplement for fertilizers for thousands of years in China and elsewhere in the world.
Gord: A little bit different in China in the sense that it goes off non-composted for the most . . . it’s called night soil.
Ann: It goes on raw whereas we compost for a year at a very high temperature.
